Hans and I decided, sometime in November 2025, that we were ready for a new adventure. For many years, we welcomed guests to our home on the Pezula Private Estate and at Gondwana Private Game Reserve, offering a warmth that prompted many to remark that it felt like staying at a lodge, rather than staying with friends.
“Everything is perfect: the welcome, our guest room, the meals and the delicious drinks, your hospitality.”
At Gondwana, our days were built around game drives in our own open safari vehicle, led by Ranger Hans or Liaan, catered dinners, evenings around the fire, and falling asleep to the roar of the Big Five. From our home on Pezula, we shared everything Knysna has to offer with our guests — golf included — surrounded by nature that is as overwhelming as it is unspoilt. Sharing these experiences, and watching our guests fall in love with our surroundings, is what we do best.
Hans's background in real estate means he keeps a close eye on the market, and that is how this remarkable location — now home to Enon Heights — came to our attention. For me, Liaan, the pull back into hospitality had been building for some time. We are both entrepreneurs at heart, and we relished the opportunity to bring a new concept to life in Knysna. So our journey began: months of planning and preparation, followed by a complete renovation, inside and out, that started earlier this year. From mid-October 2026, our doors will open to our first guests.
We want to share this place — and our love for South Africa and the Garden Route — with the world. Because we travel often ourselves and appreciate that extra touch of luxury, we have chosen to welcome guests from across the globe: the same travellers who seek out 5-star stays in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands, and want that same standard as they explore the Garden Route, where it remains rare to find.
Enon Heights 5-Star Luxury Farm Stay offers exactly that: a rare, sparkling touch of luxury in the heart of the Garden Route. Join us, and become part of your South African journey.
